SONABLATE HIFU

WHAT IS SONABLATE HIFU?

The Sonablate is a state-of-the art, non-invasive medical device that destroys tissue in the prostate using focused ultrasound. The Sonablate was approved by the FDA in October 2015.

Sonablate was the first device to receive regulatory authorization from the FDA for the ablation of prostate tissue with HIFU.

The Sonablate consists of a console where the physician plans, monitors and adjusts HIFU treatment, a transrectal probe and a chiller, which is a safety device that keeps the rectum cool during the procedure.

The Sonablate has highly sophisticated software that enables treating physicians to obtain images of the prostate that are used to map out and target exactly where HIFU should be delivered.

What is Sonablate

Once a physician has targeted all the areas to be treated, he delivers the HIFU energy and monitors how the tissue reacts, making adjustments as needed for a safe, yet effective, delivery of HIFU energy.

Sonablate HIFU is an outpatient procedure with no blood loss and no incision required.

Why Sonablate

WHY CHOOSE SONABLATE?

HIFU is a non-invasive, outpatient treatment option that allows men to return to their normal lifestyle immediately and preserves patient quality of life. The Sonablate is the most sophisticated HIFU technology available today for prostate tissue ablation.

The Sonablate incorporates customized treatment and safety technologies in an effort to strike a balance that has been difficult to achieve in prostate cancer treatment — increasing disease control capabilities while decreasing quality of life side effect risks.

Strike a balance

Decrease quality of life side effect risks.

Nerve Detection

The Sonablate can help a physician identify the location of nerve responsible for preserving potency during a HIFU procedure and avoid them as needed. This feature minimizes the risk of experiencing erectile dysfunction after the procedure.

Robotic Transducers

The fully integrated probe with dual ablation transducers moves robotically within the probe to follow the physician's precise ablation plan.

Real-Time Monitoring of Tissue Changes

When HIFU is delivered to tissue, it immediately starts to change at the focal point. Physicians have the ability to monitor those changes as they happen and make adjustments as needed for the safety of the patient.
